my alk drop with new ca reactor why?

How's your PH, any changes? Make sure your unit is properly dialed in and keep a very close eye on your system.Ca reactors could be difficult to adjust and could upset your water chemistry.

Ca Reactors are used to maintain your parameters. You need to dial it in to match your daily usage. In order to get them back up, you'll need to dose/supplement calcium and Alkalinity. Raise your alk slowly though, no more than .5dkh per day.

Catch some of the liquid coming out of the reactor and measure the alkalinity of that and post what it is?

So i need to go back to my 2 part b ionic cal and alk? then get it to where i want and retry? I thougt the reactor was to replace the 2 part said:
Yes. You need to get the system to the correct levels with your 2 part first and then bring the reactor online to maintain those levels - it will not get the tank to play catch up.
Do what Rick said and measure the effluent - perhaps it's not disolving the media correctly...?

first off what you need to do is bring your calcium and alk up to the levels you want it to be at. what is the PH in the reactor. Depending on the media you running and grain size something between 6.7-6.5 is what i run at with A.R.M course media. Then you need it set the PH controller accordingly. let the reactor run until the PH drops to the specified level and then test the ALK and calcium of the effluent. Your going to test very often for the next couple of days to make sure the calcium and ALK isnt going to high. It took me almost 2 weeks of constant testing to dail in my reactor. Heres some extra info that might help more than my horrible explanation
