My 75 g tank pics

I reaquascaped my tank and have been meaning to post some pics. I started to dislike how the rock work did not go past halfway up the tank and always thought I needed more live rock. One day I just messed around with the rock I had and came up with this. Didnt have to buy a single piece of live rock.

I originally took pictures setting the tank up to do a build thread just never got around to it and probaly never will. Its just a basic 75g RR and the most high tech thing about it is a maxijet

Tank is over a year old now.

Old rockwork (Note I took out that giant kenya tree forest):

Thats all for now. Be happy to answer any questions.

That is a really good looking tank and I like what you have done with your rock. It leaves plenty of room for future growth so keep us posted.

Thanks for all the comments. I like the new layout alot more and find myself looking at my tank more than I have in the past. On a side note my two new fish are starting to worry me:

All aiptaisa anemones are gone  including that one in the zoanthids. There are no more feather dusters in my tank either. The other night the CBB ate one mysis shrimp but hasnt touched any yet. I may have to get some rocks with some aiptasia on them so I can make sure he is eating something. Hes starting to make me nervous that he is going to run out of food before he accepts something prepared.

The flame angel is constantly picking at the rocks but wont eat any prepared foods. Ive never had trouble getting a flame angel to eat but Ive read that they can be like this (eating off rocks) for quite some time untill they adjust. Im not as worried with her as I am with the CBB.

I am going away this weekend so hopefully all is well till I get back.

Heres some more pics to please the crowd:

Triton:
the only way my CBB will eat mysis is if I put it in the tank frozen and the big fish (you have seen my rough crowd) are focused on the floating cube of mysis while some falls to the lower part of the tank. Keep the cbb from having to compete directly with the others. Mine is a hog though and I did get lucky. This might help the cbb eat since the chromis and sailfin are probably pretty quick on the food. IME CBB's dont like to compete for food and are slow eaters. If you need some aptasia...you saw my overflow. We can scrape it! Also, might end up having to get some of those big brown feather dusters from the LFS or online for the copperband. How long have you had it? Usually they will clean out the aptasia and feather dusters before they accept frozen. Even my little pig did that and didnt eat much or any frozen for a week or two after I got him/her. The first time it actually ate was when I tried the method above. I dont think it would hurt to try anyway, even if it doesnt work for you. Since then, this is how I feed mysis every time.

Thanks for the tips Orchids. I have been feeding excessively much to give everybody a chance to eat. The sailfin and chromis definately get the majority of it. Your right, CBB are very deliberate eaters and like to stare at their food for a while before they eat. Thats probaly one of their drawbacks. Unfortunately I am out of town for the weekend so hopefully he does well over the break. I got him at the sale at DNA for $20, so he is relatively new. I think hell be fine eating off the live rock till I return, then Ill get some aiptasia rocks for him to peck at.

As far as the angel goes, Ive read up on him and apparently they can go months just pecking at rocks before eating prepared foods, without any problem. WetWebMedia has tons of info on them so I am no longer worried about him.

I hate slow moving threads, but apparently Im guitly of it too. So heres a pictures update of my tank. The Flame angel died....I took it out to quarantine it because it was being lethargic and had external parasites, but it didnt last a day in quarantine. I really want another one though. The CBB fell victim to a maxi-jet modded pump......I came home and found him stuck to the side of it. All the other fish are doing fine though :D

Enough chit chat heres some pics, I updated to T-5 btw......

Looks good Triton. I personally think you need more rock. Not a lot more, but a little. Might just be me though. I think some tonga branch would look good and allow you to keep the open look. I need some of those zoas too!

Thanks for the comments.

Orchids, what zoas do you like? The green ones?

Marco, my tank hasnt always looked this good and to be honest I envy other peoples tanks much more and think mine looks like crap at times. Its a matter of perception for sure. However, if there is a specific problem your having Id be happy to try to help. Thanks for the comments.

Yes the green ones. Your tank is beautiful and always has been. Are you getting used to the t5's now? I know your weren't liking the purple from the actinics at first.

Careful with the clown, i had a baby like that that grew an inch per week, one day my GF was calling me yelling that he's just watching my xenias and biting chunks out of the stalks, I decided to sacrifice my xenias, but the next day he was biting chunks out of my frogspawn, before that he never even looked at any of my corals. Once yours gets into that mode, say goodbye to all your zoas. Other then that nice collection of fish.

I've never had clowns mess with zoos. Them biting your corals was a test to see if they wanted to host the coral. They often bite their anemones as well. They definitely weren't eating the coral for sustinence.
