My 36g Bowfront Reef Tank (possibly overkill)

so, im officially an addict.

I am converting my 36g bowfront to a saltwater reef tank. Currently, the tank is up with the old crappy hood and the aqeon filter just for some flow.

I have added live sand, live rock, and filled up with saltwater. Its been running that way for a few days.

so, now for the "real" equipment that is planned. To start, I got a SunPod Metal Halide Fixture Pro 20" 250W that I am going to hang from the ceiling. Here is a photo, I have it somewhat taken apart to fix what I feel was some crappy wiring done by a previous owner that I dont trust to not set my place on fire.

since my tank is a bowfront with the "brace" across the center, i am going to have to mod it with a peice of clear acrylic to let the light through that brace.

second i got a sweet skimmer, a DAS EX-1

I am going to pump in about 100gph to this bad boy.

I also bought an overflow box from another member, no pic but nothing fancy.

Last, I finally got my sump/refugium. It is definantly overkill as its almost as large as my tank haha. but oh well.

I am pretty excited. I am going to try to get it all connected tommorrow. We (me and my gf) really wanted a cool reef tank and we think this will be a good start until we can have room for a huge one in the future :)

just finished plumbing up everything and rewiring the lights (a previous owner had altered them and it was scary.. i didnt trust it..)

i have the water flowing the way i want it, but holy hell its LOUD!!!!

my overflow is slurping, the water hitting the sump is loud, the return pump is vibrating and loud as heck (quiet one 4000).

going to have to figure something out... otherwise its looking good, just need my light hanging kit i ordered and ill be finished

well, that didnt take long. Breaking this down already to move into my new 115g cube tank. new build coming soon
