Mushroom propagation

[Trung, just leave them be, feed phytoplankton every other day to your tank, and let time do its job. In a year you'll be cursing the day you bought a few. ;)]

[I will try to bring a few to the Frag Swap in June.]

Which is the better product for kick starting Ricordea and other softies into propregating something like Phytoplex perhaps or Marine Snow? Also would these sups be good for Frogspawn, Zoos and acraporia, and will it be bad for fish?

Sorry, I'm sure these kinds of questions have been addressed ad nausium.

Phytoplex and Marine Snow will feed all corals and will not have any effect on your fish. Just be sure to feed small amounts and don't overdose. :D

Can someone tell me what those white little round discs that mushrooms spill when bothered. I had one rock that fell on top of my shrooms when i took it off they were spewing these white DISCS looking things?????????????

Hmmmm. Unidentified flying disks, huh? I haven?t seen any disks other than the little upside ?peanut butter cup? looking thing they leave behind when they move their foot. However, my shrooms do put out a little string of slime when they are molested.

I?ve been dosing one tsp of DTs phytoplankton and a small squirt of Cyclopes target fed directly into all my softies every other night and a capfull of Purple-Up every night before lights go out and filters turn off. Since I started adding these Supplements I HAVE seen some of the mushrooms putting off little shrooms. They are only visible at first with a magnifying glass and only when the lights first come on because during the day they hide underneath the mother shroom when she fluffs up. I guess my shrooms are slowly starting to spread, but surely not as fast as everyone talks about. The Shroom Tank is only a little over 4 months old, guess it just takes time. Only problem I see with dosing this phyto and Cyclopes every other night is it seems to be making my trates run a little high. Anyone else experience this?

I think this is unlikely. How's your water quality? Have you added anything like Amquil Plus. Are your trates high? I've never known a clown to go near a shroom except to host in a Fuzzy.

im not sure it was awhile back and i too that tank down and am doing a FOWLR, i just wanted to know for future reef reference.
Thanks
Alec
