MRC skimmers

I thought I saw a thread on here about the MRC skimmers and can't find it. Has anyone tried the MRC Ocean Force? Also, what advantages would a recirculating skimmer have, especially on a less than 200 gal tank?

recirculating skimmers main advantages are they can be placed outside the sump..If you put it into the sump the sump water level does not make a difference both of these are cause you use a second pump like a maxi jet to feed the skimmer...and the skimmer pump just draws water from inside the skimmer

the new ocean force skimmers are an attempt to enter the nw market and use many of the current popular features ... wet neck, bubble plate, small foot print ... they use a cheaper pump though

yep - nw is needlewheel ... generally speaking, the build quality should be good with mrc, but, the pumps they are using are in line with ocean runner - a decent pump.... i just wish they would come out with a skimmer in that price range with a great pump - but, that would be a bk :)

What's a bk? It drives me nuts when I don't know what these mean and I sit around thinking about it. nw and now bk. Oh well, it's ss.

Here's a question for you: What is the best skimmer for the money (under 500) for a tank 200 gallons that includes a pump that is decent? I looked at the recirculating one by MRC for $490 but it doesn't even have a pump with it.

MSX-250 (Marine Solutions Xtreme) or Octopus Extreme 250, same skimmer with different name.
