i have a mp40w and has been working great, but i turned it off today and now on start up it flashed the leds like normal but then the white led dims on the module. i can hold both buttons and it flashes red white blue over and over. theni can press or hold again and it blinks blue green. googled the problem seems like the module. any help would be appreciated. anyone have a spare i can borrow till i find a replacement or buy.
thanks in advance

Sorry I don't have one to lend you, but I would call Frank at Franks Tanks. He seems to always have Ecotech stuff in stock. I had a module go out and he was able to help immediately.

It might be your wet side. Mine went out and did the same thing you're describing. It was about 2 years old when it happened and I bought a new wet side off Marine Depot for around $100.

Kuyatwo has a module he is selling going to try it first. But now that you say wet side, my temp has been higher than normal for 2 days and with the mp40 not running its back to normal... If it doesn't fix the problem ill tear the wet side apart and see what's going on. Thanks for the heads up.

you can go right to Ecotech's site and order a kit from them (cost like $20) to repair the wetside. This happen to me and i just changed a few things in it and Boom, working like a champ. Since then i keep an Extra Wetside for each model of Vortechs i have. i know i am far but if you want you can borrow my Wetside and give it back once you get your own.

I would test it before you spend a lot of money trying to figure it out.

You could probably send it to Ecotech to let them look at it if you're concerned about breaking the wet side trying to fix it. I broke mine that way.

i think your best bet is to go to franks witht he vortech he has many parts and help you diagnose the problem your having.

If the motor (dry side) has too much load ie the wet side is jammed up for some reason the module will flash and act kinda crazy to let you know there is a problem. Pull the wet side out and see if it spins freely and doesn't feel weird.

Thanks for the advice and help. The wet side spins freely. I ended up getting that spare module, plugged it in and everything works great now.
