Moving RO/DI unit

Hey Guys,

We're in the process of moving and I've read all Marc's stuff on moving the tank. One question I have is, do I need to know anything about moving my RO unit? IE - can the filters dry and still work properly, etc? I have enough water made and stored that I probably wont reinstall it the first day - It might be down for a week-ish.

Thoughts? Thanks,
jeff

The RO membrane definitely needs to stay wet. The other filters I'm not certain of, but if you keep the filter containers sealed, I'd probably try to move it with water in it.

I bought one from a guy here and it had been out of service for a long time. When I removed the RO membrane to clean the unit up - there was plenty of water inside. Just keep everything connected as is and try and plug the hoses with a golf tee to keep the water from leaking out. I would think that would be okay for a while.

It can sit fine for a week, but don't let it freeze in this crazy weather. Keep it indoors. To avoid stagnation issues, it is best to run it once a week for at least 15 minutes.
