I got an anomones at the frag swap today,it had diatached from the rock it was on in the bag so i put a rubberband on it before putting it in the tank. I left for awhile when i got home it had moved and attached to another coral i got today. And its attached very well!! How do i remove it and reatatch???

Two choices...
I move mine by very carefully getting my nail under the foot, then slowly lifting up. I feel it give, then move a little over and lift again. I have slightly tore the edge before and if that happens, i'll stop emediatley.

Second choice....let him do what he wants.
Whats happening with you is it's in an new enviorment and is looking for it's sweet spot. Im sure he'll move a little more and be settled by morning.
You cannot stop it, trust me. He will move/rome all around until he finds the spot that he's most satisfied. If he gets in a spot that you cannot get to or just gotta get him to move, point a Power head at him and he should mosey on somewhere else. I would not put a rubberband on one as they are very fragile and again, will move regardless.
Hope that helps

edited for poor grammar :p

Thanks for the reply,i removed him last knight pretty much like you said. I tried a rubberband and your right he was out of it by morning but stayed on the rock.. I wasnt sure if it would sting my other corals? Thanks again.

I got a small BTA with blue tips yesterday myself. It attached to nice rock where the clowns could see it so I patiently waited all night to see if they would host.

Nope they didnt even go close to it. Oh well I went to bed and got up this morning and it was gone  I looked all over and finally found it and the nem as gone to the back corner by the overflow under a rock boooo. I guess I will just wait it out and hope it comes back around.

Wow! Pay good money for a new pet and it hides from you!!LOL..I should'nt laugh mine may decide to move again. Good luck with yours. :D

Mine's still MIA since Sunday. I put him in Saturday, saw him Sunday, and not since, and today is Friday. Should I tear rocks apart to locate him? No powerheads are uncovered. I have huge rock I can't lift. If he's behind it I'll have to get the Hulk to come move it for me.

Anybody think I should worry? I am, would be much happier if I could see him. But reading this post makes me realize I'm not the only one that's lost their anemone.

Do you have a good flashlight that you can shine around the edges of the tank to try to locate it? I don't know that I'd start pulling rocks apart yet- you're just as likely to rip it if it's conencted to more than one rock.

Noticed any odditiees with your testing? Any nitrate spike, or even ammonia?

I tested nitrates Wednesday, near zero. I'll test them all again tonight. If there's a spike I'll know what happened, but if not, he must be in there somewhere. I have lots of flow and MH's. I got him from Big Steve.

Kay,
I just saw your pm (filter caught it, sorry)

Im sure he's fine. Mine have stayed "hidden" for a while. He wont commit suicide behind that rock. Give him a little more time. Or as I said, point a ph behind that rock and try to get him to move.

I found him! He's back there. He's on the bottom of a Seio powerhead on the cover part. I went ahead and unplugged it. I don't think he could get in there but not taking that chance. But he's all right, just not fluffed out. I guess he'll take his sweet time about getting settled. Hope he settles where I can see him every day.
