Moving a tank!

Hey everybody! I'm about to buy a complete setup. It comes with some livestock. My question is, this tank has been established for a few years now. As for the water in the tank now, when I move the setup to my house, what do I do with the water that's currently in the tank? Do I try to save all I can? If so, how is the best way to transfer the water, ie in tubs or ????? Or do I save half the water and make the rest new saltwater?

when I move tanks, I usually save half of the water and make new saltwater to fill the rest. Think of it as a 50% water change

Definitely try to save at least half and then make new water for the other half. I've moved tanks 3-4 times no I'll effects. I guess you could get away with saving less, but the move will be stressful enough. Keeping the water chem as close as possible is probably a good bet as I see it. As far as equipment, I've used everything from buckets, to coolers. Good luck with the move!

Either replace the sand, or be sure to thoroughly rinse it. The first inch or so is ok, and there is no need to rinse that part, but the rest beneath that will have to be replaced or rinsed.
