Moved my tank...wait and see

I moved my tank from Arlington to Wichita Falls last night, or should I say starting at 10 pm and ending at 7 am (that's a 29g tank WITH lots of prior planning). :x

Two pieces of advice for anyone moving a tank: 1) get your nems off the rocks before you want to start breaking down the tank, and 2) get a buddy...or three.

Everyone lived through the move except a snail. I left the DSB (9 mos old) in the tank for the move and was careful not to disturb it; that should help a lot. It took some work, but I finally got my levels right. Nems and fish were stressed (of course the xenia couldn't have been happier). We'll see how things play out in the next day or so.

Congrats...

I know moving is a pain in the rear, last year when I moved, I have almost 75 lbs of LR in 4 home depot blue tubs, all fish and coral on one tub and six 5 gallon jugs..

It's nice to have plenty of powerhead, heaters and air stone/pump handy..

It took me almost a full day to move a 40 gallon tank lol..

Good luck, i get to move my 90 soon, not looking forward to it...hope it all works out...

Sounds fun!

I get the "great opportunity" of moving my 125 gallon reef from one of our spare bedrooms to the office this weekend. The wife says that the child on the way gets precedence over the tank.

Wish me luck!
