Move 240g. Borrow Suction cups and flat dolly? People?

Well I wish I could say that the tank was for me but we are not ready for a tank this big. I am picking up this 240 tall in wall setup to sell for a friend and I was wondering if anyone has any of these big tank moving tools to make it easier that I may borrow?

I am also planning to do this on Saturday so I was wondering if I can entice anyone to help (provided I can arrange the tools & transportation in time)? I would supply suds and grub afterwards as the enticement :D.

Thanks for looking and please let me know if anyone can help...

Cheers,
Mike

Just in case he isn't reading this thread, ya' might wanna PM Tri - TNN1567... I'm pretty sure he's got these things since he just moved that monster tank...

Mike,

I would be more than happy to lend you the equipments, but I will need a deposit on the equipment since they are very expensive. I have done a lot of research and couldn't find any place to rent these equipments.

Here is the link if you do decide to buy your own suction cups:

I just noticed that I have lost my little fish as being a member of this club

Maybe with all these good deeds I do for the club, I can get a free membership :p

Mike, I sent you the pm with details.

Hey..me and my bud handled my oceanic 150 by ourselves...so, reason would say 4 people can handle a oceanic 300...so, I guess 3 people should be able to handle a 240 :p :p :p :p :p

I think I read a post somewhere on the web where 4 people move a 240 gal tank with 4 suction cups and some flat dollies. The more people you have, the more likely no one will get hurt.

Mike, I may be able to help you move the tank depending on time on Sat. Can you let me know what time you are planning?

I am PMing you my cell.

I think that was TCU reefer that did it. You can read up on his thread on how he moved it. said:
We had 7 guys to move my 215 in the house.

We used 4 suction cups and one flat dolly (to roll it through the narrow hallway).

We borrowed the suction cups from my uncle (owns a glass business) and borrowed the dolly from my contractor.

Update,
well it seems the best time to make this happen will be starting about 1pm at 35E/Walnut Hill . The tank is sold to someone already! (yes to a member (.... I see a build thread starting soon :D ) so we can just take it to his house instead of mine. Suds and Grub is still definately on the agenda

I will contact those whom have offered help.

THANKS!!!

Mike,

Please be aware that I will be at the office til 5:00 PM. After that, I am heading home to Keller.

Well the move is happening today at 1pm! I spent last night breaking down the tank and getting everything out of the way. We currently have 5 confirmed people. I would feel more comfortable with a confirmed 6th.

If anyone else can help it would be greatly appreciated.

You can call my cell at 4six9-3six0-38six7

Thanks...

Well the move went well. Thank you to all who showed and helped out... let's see... Me , Marcus, Chris, John, Frank, Jason & Randy. We managed to get the tank DOWN STAIRS(!) because it wouldn't fit in the elevator; and then on the truck. It would not been possible at all without the use of the suction cups; so thanks Tri for their use.

Marcus definately has a project ahead of him. Good luck man.

Cheers
