Modifying nanocube 28 led pro?

Eckolancer answered a few questions for me. Never done anything like this before.

Looking to change it up, its currently got 25 3w white led and while I've kept sps and lps for over a year, I feel like I could get better growth and color from a full spectrum. Its also got the blue moonlight leds as well as the dusk/dawns.

Would it be possible and ok to remove some whites and replace them with other colors? Would I need to change any other hardware?

Eckolancer suggested the following.
1 green, 1 red, 1 cyan, 1 UV, and 8-10 total blue. If this is possible, id be replacing 12-14 of the 3w whites with 13-11 whites remaining.

Any help or suggestions (in detail) would be appreciated.

Looks ok to me. I'll add my 2 cents although I don't know what your moonlight and dusk dawns are so my tips are based on all the light.

Is consider a 3-up anti disco for the color LEDs. I think one of each is fine for colors.

I'd aim for a 2-1 ratio of blue to white. Also id add 1or 2 more uv- uvs are awesome IMO.

I have aurora pucks with 50/50 white to blue ratio and I dim whites at almost 50% of blues. Not a problem since I may never turn these up high enough for it to be a limit but it's something to consider.

How many channels? How are they controlled?

Been researching all morning. Just to clarify a few things...

Channel = How many individual dimmers/circuits I am running???

Looking at meanwell drivers from rapidled.

Also looking at the APEX VDM. Is it worth the money? If I need an APEX controller (separate) to make this work, then its not an option for me right now.

With a manual dimmer I could just run a fixed setting at on/off on a timer for my daylight cycle, correct?

I liked these as far as led configuration and color, good starting point imo

yes, try for two unless your certain on the light mix. It's fun to dail it in.

yes, you need the controller for vdm

Sounds like you already have moonlights too. This should be just fine.

Also, pucks or tri stars mean less stuff to wire up. They also have solder-less LEDs to make things simple.

Picked up a biocube 14 yesterday. Gonna clean it up.
Ordered this stuff today:

Biocube 14
rapidled kit with 4 whites, 3 royal blue, 3 neutral blue. 1 red, 1 lime, 1 uv. 2 channel dimmable.

Nanocube:
Going with 2 mean well drivers

Using stock heatsink.
Pulling the stock led and using:
1 each of red, lime, cyan
2 uv
9 white
5 royal blue
5 blue.

Both will be 2 channel manual dimmable on timers.

I will post a build along on them with pics
