Miracle Mud "installation" and compatability w/ filtration

can you give me some advice on adding miracle mud to my new fuge/sump… here is my setup:

300gal display ->
external overflow box ->
1" drain in to sump/fuge inlet (contains biopellets and protein skimmer) ->
18x12" fuge section (will add 10lbs miracle mud, live rock and macro algae w/ 24/7 6500 lights) ->
9" return section with mag 5

the tank also has 2 canister filters, one on each end of the tank.

is there any down side to running biopellets + canister filters + protein skimmer + miracle mud?

when I add the miracle mud in to the dry/empty sump, is there anything in particular that I need to do before turning on the pumps?

would a mag 12 return pump (pushing about 450gph) be too much flow for the sump? would it stir up the mud clouding my tank?

well, i got the miracle mud (10lbs) and Reef Mud (10 more lbs) in the fuge (with the pumps off). its been about 14 hours and the water has cleared up considerably, but someone said to wait a minimum of 48 hours before turning on the pumps. before I turn on the return pump, should a remove the foamy, funky water from the fuge. or is there gonna be "good stuff" in that nasty water that I should just let in to the display tank (even if it clouds up a little)?

waited about 48 hours, started filling up sump all the way and the last baffle (between fuge and return area) started leaning from the top. luckily i was able to repair it without having to empty the mud. waited another 48 hours for the silicone and glue to dry, filled her up, pumps on and only got very minor clouding for a couple hours.

IMO there is no need for miracle mud, and any type of "mud" or sand in the sump/fuge. I have always run cheato and a skimmer and the occasional filter sock and it has served me well. The rock in the system is plenty for biological filtration. I think anything with the word miracle in it is probably some sort of scam.
