Ok I have been looking at a fixture that comes with three 175w DE HQI bulbs. The only brand of bulbs I can find for replacements are Odyssea bulbs but I would like to hvae more of a selection. Should 150w DE HQI bulbs work in this fixture or is there more to it?

Also is there big difference between double ended bulbs and normal socket bulbs?

I have never heard of 175 watt DE bulbs, only 70,150, 250, 400 wattages.

DE bulbs have more intensity in most cases than SE.
