MH Pendant -- Which one?

Reading some of the previous posts state that the Icecap 175w electronic ballast is excellent, coupled with the iwasaki 15k bulb.

Which pendant and can you buy it turnkey?

Thanks

Just fyi I am looking to make my metal halides also and I just found this;

250 watt for only $90! I dont know anything about them so maybe someone can chime in. They say the bulbs are made by Plus Lighting. Anyone heard of them?

Heck, for the price I think you could buy that and then buy a good bulb and you have a set up for less than $150/light.

Anyone?

The reflector is very poor quality, and the bulb is a bad brand, TCUguy.

The best pendant on the market (to me) is the Lumenbright. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-06/review/index.php

I've been using them for 2 years this month, and the light they shine down is truly 300% more than the metal reflector TCUguy linked.

Yeah I figured for the price :) so I guess for the money all you could salvage would be the ballast and I think there's cheaper than $90 ballasts huh :)

And more expensive ones of course. What you buy should come with a warranty, be reliable and efficient. In this hobby, saving money isn't always the best choice when it comes to buying gear.

Of course, buying used stuff in our For Sale area will save money every time. Over the years, I've simply opted to buy new stuff with good warranties from companies with good reputations. My tank has done well because of it.

Yeah I've learned that the hard way :(

I just got new Ati bulbs for my t5 and what a difference than the stock bulbs all my algea went away and I can now keep sps, all because of buying a cheap fixture to begin with that had crappy bulbs
