Mh not firing - 250w icecap w/14k hamilton bulb

[This morning I woke up to turn the lights on in my tank and the bulb fires for a minute or so but then turns off. I don’t know what the problem is. If anyone has any suggestions on what to do let me know. O yeah I don’t have a spare bulb to test with either.
250W MH IceCap Ballast
250W 14K SE Hamilton running for about 5 months]
 
[i have had a halide do that before, and it wasnt burned out.
i would reinstall the bulb and try again, and it would work.
halides sometimes take 5-10 minutes between firings.
after that i would suggest trying a replacement bulb.]
 
[i've tried everything and it's not working. i'm taking the bulb to get tested but if all else fails i'm send the ballast back to icecap. man i hope all my corals will survive with 110w of pc lighting for awhile]
 
[i went to test the bulb at a lfs and the bulb is fine. guess i'll have to send the ballast out today. just hope that my corals will still be alive when i get it back.]
 
[Yeah I'm pretty sure I'll just get a whole new set up and maybe keep or get rid of the old ballast. Thanks for the help and suggestions TealCobra...]
 
[IceCap has a forum on ReefCentral. Contact them thru there for advice and replacement/repair instructions. They are pretty helpful folks.]
 
[thanks for all the advice everyone. i've sent the ballast to icecap already and i'm waiting for a new ballast from another online shop.]
