I have (2) 175 watt Metal Halide Hamilton fixtures w/ digital ballast, that I'm hanging in my tank 7" from the acrylic (obviously :lol: over the open wholes of the top). My concern is issues later on with the acrylic, as I've read that you should hang them 10"-12" from the tank! I don't have a big canopy and so this presents a problem for my set up. Any comments or suggestions would be of help. By the way, I love this site and all the knowledge that is shared here.
