MH lighting question ?

Tank is 58 gal 36in long x 18in wide x 22in tall I want to upgrade to MH should i go 2 x 175 watt or 2 x250 watts. Mostly soft and LPS now but want to keep SPS and Clams

I would get 2 VHO actinic bulbs and 250w 10,000K for a tank that size.
 
That's what I would do what Marc recommended.
I would'nt spend the extra money for the extra ballast and bulb doing
175.

Get a spider reflector?
 
Yes, one bulb is fine. Lower light corals can be on the outer edges, and the light demanding corals in the center section.
 
If you are planning on upgrading in the future, go 250w. They are the most versatile MH on the market. If you raise the fixture, you'll be able to cover close to 36". Put your softies on the side with the SPS in the middle under the MH.
