Metal Halide goes off randomly

I have a Current USA Outer Orbit MH fixture with 2x 150w HQI bulbs. One of the bulbs will randomly turn off and then come back on after a while. Any ideas on what could be the issue? Bad Ballast? Overheating?
 
Perhaps the ballast is overheating. You could try swapping the bulbs to see if the problem moves to the other side / continues on the same side.
 
Some fixtures have a heat sensor. If a fan dies or the vents get clogged it will turn off. My cat is bad about sitting on top of the gf's tank.
 
I swapped bulbs and same issue. Now the light doesn't come on at all. I did notice that the bulb flickers like it's trying to start up. Both fans on the fixture are spinning up. Found the place online that current-USA recommends for ballast replacement, but I'm debating now whether to replace the ballast or pick up a pair of lumenbrite mini pendants.
