We have a 55 gal tank. Pretty much fish only. One regal blue tang, a yellow tang, one true perc, a foxface and a featherduster for fun. Went to the store and got a sailfin tang and coral banded shrimp and two firefish. Was a bit worried that the mamma yellow tang would pick on the new sailfin. Yellow did little chasing around just to let the sailfin know it is HER tank. But what freaked me out was the perc went nuts on the two firefish. I couldn't catch the perc or firefish to get them out (and do what with them?). The mean ol perc basically murdered the two firefish. Who knew?
 
Remember clowns are in the damsel family! For the record I think damsels are the devil spawn of the aquarium world!! They can have attitudes also and in fact many are downright mean (maroons and Clarkii's etc). Percs are generally the most passive but all once established don't really like newcomers!

It's pretty odd for percs to do this but it is it doesn't shock me.
 
I have two blue/yellow damsels, and I recently added a mated pair of maroon clown's. I was really worried, but I love the blue/yellows and didn't want to get rid of them, so I just watched, after the first day, they pretty much ignore each other now. You may just have to give it a little time. They'll establish a pecking order eventually, to me I had to watch to see if they were actually hurting each other or just chasing each other. You'll have to decide on your own factors.

I agree, damsels are the spawn of satan. I had a pair of blue/yellow damsels and will never get a damsel again. They were very obnoxious and caused lots of problems. They were constantly fighting and nipping at each other. Then they started going after my corals. That was it, they had to go. I'm planning on getting a true perc to replace them. Hopefully I have better luck with the perc. That's odd, I've never heard of them being that aggressive before. But if they are related to damsels or part of the same family, it doesn't surprise me one bit.
 
my female occellaris ignores the other fish and attacks my hand every time I try to do something in the tank :/

My perc attacks my hand too. No prob with any of the other fishes but she goes WHACKY if I stick my hand in there. LOL
