Mated pair... dies together?!

I had a mated pair of yellow headed gobies. Well today I noticed one of them was dead sucked up to a powerhead. The other one is MIA. They always always always come out, so I think the other one died in the rocks or something?

My pair of clowns and my 2 shrimps are just fine. All parameters are... just fine...

Has anyone had this happen before? Both dying at the same time??
 
I had a pair of mated flame hawks that one recently died about 3 weeks ago. The other seems to be doing fine. No experience with that type fish however.. :sad:
