Maroon clown mate - Lost female need mate

[:very sad:

our giant mushroom ATE our female maroon clownfish!!!(the pair was very young--less than 1 yr--they are gold stripped but haven't even changed from white yet.)We know they are hard to match up and that you should try to add a smaller one to the one you have, but our male is so small(1inch) we will never find one smaller.what are the chances if we add a larger one? the female has been gone only 1 week,so is he still a male?? PS Willing to trade or sell GIANT MUSHROOM >12", to clownless tank parent......]

[There is no body... but we are pretty sure our giant elephant ear mushroom ate it. According to Borneman's book, they will lure clowns and then trap them. We thought it was a Rhodactis mushroom when we got it and those are supposed to be safe. This is also the SECOND clown missing in 9 mos(I know... we're kind of slow...)no other fish have died or are missing. Not sure how old the pair is/was...we got them from dr mac and have had them for about 4-5 mos, their stripes have not changed from white to gold and that is supposed to happen at about 1 yr old.]
