Maroon clown hosting Plate coral

Our anemone died about a month ago and within a week, our Maroon started hosting the plate coral.
Is this ok? I just want to make sure he won't kill the plate coral. I can buy another anemone, but the one I had only lived about 9 months.
Any insight appreciated. Thanks!

The danger would be if he started to get rough while hosting in the plate and damaged the skin allowing a bacterial infection that could kill your plate.

No, Maroon clowns are too rough for the plate. Get a green hairy mushroom. They can take the snuggling of a clown and get abt 4" in diameter. Just make sure you get the dark green that do NOT have purple and chartreuse tentacles near the mouth. (those can get over 12" in diameter)

Thank you for your replies! So if I get something else, will he leave the Plate Coral alone or will I need to train him somehow??? [smilie=thinking.gif]

You may need to move the plate for a week or so. Some clowns will take to a new home faster than others.
