Marineland mj600 running backwards

Nave a marineland mj600 and I it runs backwards . It pulls water in the front of it and shoots out the sides, I unplugged it once for maintenance and when I pluged back in it started the right way but once I unplugged it again form anti ancestry now it is back to shooting water out the sides. Any sugestions
 
I had plugged and unplugged it 100 times trying to get it to start correctly... I finally figured out thAt I have to point it streight down and it will start correctly. just posting that incase someone els is having the same trouble
