Marc, update on using prodibo?

Marc,

I've been reading about Prodibo lately and was wondering what you thought of it since it's been 2 years since you started using it, or if you've already updated that information could you direct me to the thread? I did a search here and couldn't find anything. Thanks.

I only used it over a few month's time, but my tank did not respond well to it, or perhaps I was dosing incorrectly. Each time some coral would go up in smoke, I immediately backed off dosing for a few weeks.

I don't know if my tank was a poor test subject or if I was just doing it wrong, but last year at MACNA, the person working the Prodibio booth asked me if I would be willing to try it again, and I answered that I probably would, but that is as far as I got.

Several people here have or are using it. You might ask Steve Allen (slallen), as he comes to mind.

I've been using it since January, the color have been improving and everything is healthy aside from that, i can't tell whether it did anything significant, I have about two more week's supply and then going to dose reef booster only.

Thanks for the replies,

I was going to try it but there were several people on RC that if you had a refugium it wouldn't work correctly, which semi dissuaded me from trying it. My nitrates run around 2ppm and phosphates are undetectable according to my salifert test. But I also read that those tests only show you organic or inorganic phosphate readings so it is not really that accurate. I mention that b/c that was my reason for trying it and I really don't want to invest money and time into the zeovit system.

Then you may want to look into dosing Vodka instead. I've only skirted that topic, never fully immersing myself into it to get a really good understanding. I keep hoping someone will do a nice write up about it, but no-one in the Vodka thread on RC has stepped up to the plate to do so.
