Mandarin eating clown eggs

[Well, just like the topic states, my mandarin is eating my clowns' eggs. My clowns have been spawning on a regular basis now for about 6 months or so now, but all of a sudden my green mandarin has developed a liking for the eggs. It's not like I'm rasing the eggs or anything, but just kinda feel bad for the parents. They do fight the mandarin off, but it definitely looks like he's getting some. Is this normal?

[I'm sure it is normal. The clowns (2 of them) should be able to ward off one mandarin. He/she must be really good.]

[I agree with Marc... If my mandarin came near their eggs I think "Big Momma" would send him to the hospital tank in a heartbeat. I have seen my 2 clowns take on 2 serpent stars and a flame angel at one time and it was a heck of a fight! By the time it was over the flame and the serpent stars were in a world of hurt and the clowns were ready for more.

Besides I wouldn't worry too much the clown eggs are ultimatley fish food anyway. :very sad:]

[From what I have seen not too many fish mess around with mandarins. I guess they know they have a pretty potent toxin in their skin.]

[Maybe I have some mean parents but my clowns could care less, whatever gets close to the eggs takes some abuse. That includes my arm if I'm doing some cleaning and get a little too close for their liking.]
