low alkalinity

My alkalinity tests shows that my alkalinity is too low. What is the best way too raise it. I really dont like adding chemicals, but I know that I need to raise it to a more desirable level. My test chart shows that it should be in the 180 range. Mine is the 60 to 100 range. I've been checking my water alot lately to try and figure out why some of my zoanthid colonies arent flourishing like they once were.
could the low alk. levels be the problem?
nitrates at 0
nitrites at 0
phosphate at 0
calcium in the 420 to 450 range
SG is currently at 1.023 after current water change.

Thanks, Kenyon

In a thriving tank, it's hard to meet the demand for alk with just water changes. If you're looking to just boost alkalinity, baked backing soda will raise alkalinity (and ph).

Over the long term, I'd pick a balanced alk / ca supplement solution.

If you just need to boost your alkalinity, read this if your pH is usually low, or this if it tends to run high. Once you've got it mixed up, go here to figure out how much to use.
