looking for lights need help please

Ok looking for lights. I have a 90 g 48x18x24. I want to have a reef tank. I have found two adds on here.

First one is. A 4 lamp ARO vho retro kit. It says it can run up to 16 feet of bulb and 440 Watts price is $60

Second is. Said to use all PFO equipment. 3 250 Watt MH two t5 vho and moon light. Can be seperated to a 2 bulb and 1 bulb set up. $150 for the 2 bulb or $250 for it all.

I guess my question is how much do I need. I like the idea of LEDs but cost is to much right now. But I have to idea on what to look for in the numbers or how much I need to begin with
 
What are you wanting to keep in the tank such as softies, LPS or SPS?

I have the same size thank and I run 2 VHO and 2 x 250w MH over the tank and everything seems to do well. I have a mainly SPS tank with a mix of softies and LPS but for the most part it is SPS.
 
You will want to go with MH or the T5 route if you want the sps later on. The more PAR you have the better off you are.
