I am trying to decide if I should market a product I have been designing. It is essentially the same as a Sea Swirl, only it rotates a powerhead instead of your return. With the advances in pumps by Tunze, Seio and now the MJmods, this can give you a pretty substantial amount of random movement throughout the tank. The unit I am building is based loosely on this thread:

However the unit I am designing is much more compact and clean looking. It will be about the size of a dollar bill and two inches high; making it much smaller than a sea swirl and I think close in size to the Wavy Seas unit.
When it comes to price the Sea Swirl ranges from 125 to 175ish based on the plumbing size, on the wavy seas is around 200. I am thinking I can feasibly build this to sell for between 100 to 125 beating all but the smallest sea swirl model.
The unit can be designed to rotate up to about 120 degrees, maybe more. I am thinking though that I would do some where around 50 degrees which if it is used at the end of a tank, provides pretty good coverage from front to back. I think eventually I would like for the unit to come with two different parts so that it could be set up for narrow or wide rotation.
This is all still in the design stages, but I am trying to see if people think this is a viable product before I spend way too much time on it.
Thanks for any opinions
