Long live the wrasse

I have known wrasse tend to hide when first introduced forever, i have had them hide for weeks before when newly added, but i was even surprised by my newest addition. I picked up this little guy about 2 months ago, he spent a month in qt and when i introduced him to the tank around the first of June i never saw him again. Well, low and behold, he came out and is hanging out with his purple buddy and eating with everyone tonight. So, never give up on a hiding wrasse, they will surprise you. (sorry for horrible pic, they are quick swimmers)

Congrats! That's a Lemon Meringue wrasse. I've kept two of those over the years, and they have a lot of personality.

Lol. Funny. I just went through this with a melanarus. He hid for nine days. I counted him dead. Another member kept telling me he's alive and i didn't believe him. Sure enough he's out and eating like a champ. Thanks Alan. You told me so!

I hope I'm as lucky as you. I bought a yellow canary/coris wrasse about 3 weeks ago and I haven't seen him since the day I added him to my tank.

i bought a 6 line wrasse about 2 weeks ago and havent seen him either only have a 30 gal figured hes a goner if so have a serpent star and had a meal so im told but im hoping not really pretty fish should i move some live rock to check

Yea, I really thought he was a goner, but he swims out in the open with everyone else now like it never happened

We bought a yellow coris a little over a month ago. Didn't see it for 9 days but we knew it was alive since it ate our only little rock featherduster LOL. Saw it a couple of times after 9 days when the lights weren't on yet, then one day came home from work & it was swimming around acting like it owned the place.

Gotta love hiding fish! I picked a Yashe Hase goby last week and everyday I didn't see him I thought for sure he was dead. Today he zoomed out eating mysis like he owned the place. Do you ever get over the feeling that a hiding fish is dead??????

I have that exact wrasse that does the same thing. We always think he is gone until he makes a surprise appearance. Total Shocker!
