Long distance move for 175 Bowfront

Back in the hobby after several years exit and excited!

Any ideas for movers to mover a Oceanic 175 Bowfront RR Tank from Leander to Irving.

If I decide to move it myself, any suggestions for securing it in a Uhaul truck.

Thanks in advance.

i've moved a 180G setup from houston to dallas using a uhaul trailer.

If you are moving livestock and liverock, then make sure you get large buckets, preferably with lids. Put liverock in the buckets or containers, add some saltwater (not necessary to have all rock submerged).
Put livestock in insulated containers if possible. I would load all these items towards the front of the trailer.

For the tank, make sure to bring some 2x4's to put onto the bottom of the trailer so you can set the tank on. This will help it be on more of an even surface as well as letting you get your fingers under the tank for easier loading/unloading(unless you have suction cups)

Bring tie downs to secure items.

Try to get some good friends to help you with the move. bribe them with food and drinks =)

It's just tank, canopy and stand.

Thanks for the advice. I am considering getting a uhaul truck but wasn't sure how to stablize the tank. I just have visions of hitting a pothole and the tank cracking.

you can use ratcheting tie straps but you want to use 2x4s it disperse the pressure and dont strap it to tight or it will put a lot of pressure on the seams

I just moved a 150 complete setup 4 days ago from Houston to Tyler (3.5-4hour drive) and everything went off without a hitch. I used a flatbed trailer. I put the water in Brute 55 gallon trashcans and the sand in a 33 gallon walmart trashcan. I put the aquarium on moving blankets and used ratcheting straps to secure the tank, stand, trashcans, and lights. I got a Honda 5000 Power converter and put heaters in with the livestock that was in the cab of the truck. Everything went great. The power converter is very quiet! I only filled the cans about 3/4 full max to make room for some splashing and everything went great.
