Live rock question - Should i or shouldn't i

[I just picked up about 12-15 lbs of Tonga live rock that was once in an active aquarium. It has supposedly been broken down for about a month. When I picked it up, the rock and live sand were in a small aquarium filled with saltwater that was about 62 degrees with a powerhead running. The rock did NOT stink.

Should I go ahead and place the rock in a bare aquarium for cycliing, plus I got about 6 cups of the live sand? There is nothing in the aquarium (new cycle job)]

[If you are sure about the status of the liverock and it had been in a reeftank. Not some fish only tank that had been treated with meds. or copper. Then there is no reason I can see not to put the liverock in your tank. I am not sure what you are asking about with the sand though. You have six cups of sand, do you already have new sand in the tank? It sounded like the tank was bare. Are you planning on just dumping the six cups of sand onto the bare bottom?]

[I already have some live sand in the aquarium, but could use some more; that is the reason for the question reference the sand.. I will send pm reference the aquarium the live rock was in, asking about medicines, copper, etc.]
