Little neon goby travels a lot.

My little neon goby had ended up in the overflow for days until I realized it and rescued him. Then one day he was in my fuge down in the sump. He would have to have traveled down the overflow, through the skimmer section, and through the bubble trap which has a carbon filter in it, and he stayed there for a few days. I thought he was dead till I saw him. Then I turned off the return pump to feed corals and turned it back on and forgot about him. Well he disappeared for a few more days and I started looking for him. Then I found him in the tank! The only way he would have got there is to go from the fuge section to the return section and get sucked up the Mag 12 and poured back into the tank. The real surprise is he's eating and fine, though a little more fearful and hiding. I hope he pulls through and learns to stay away from the overflow boxes. He is not going near them anymore. He's little, but the overflow teeth look too small for him. I feel lucky to still have him.

Lol... Now I know what to look forward to when I get my sump installed. My goby is insanse. He gets right up with my green spotted puffer and wrasses to compete for food. He has a death wish :D

I had 2 Neons in the tank at work and they disappeared. I've looked in the sump several times, but I can't find them so I think they must have bit the big one. I might just pull a lot of macro out of the refugium and see if I can find them...

Might have to start "octo" proofing overflows for more than just octopus.

My Neon's are notorious for this. I seem to be rescueing mine from the overflow all the time. It is even more amazing to find them in the sump. I mean the over flows drop into a pile of rocks. Watching the water come out of there and hitting it ... Must be a rough ride.

Lately I just drop a few bits of pellet in the over flows to feed the ones in I can not get. I have watched them from the bottom and there are tons of mysys and pods in there so they wont go hungry.

Hmmm, maybe that's where mine went. I've been looking for him for 2 weeks. I figure he was an anemone snack but maybe he went down the "drain"!

Yes. Alert, everyone needs to search their overflows. Mine lived in there for two weeks a couple months ago and I thought he was dead then. That was before his most recent travels.
