LIONFISH FEEDING help

I have feed my lionfish live food for the first month, now I cant keep going back to to store to buy live fish.

I have read about putting the food on a stick and wiggling it, but that does not seem to be working. I have a feeding stick and that does not work either.

Please let me know how to teach him how to go to the top and eat or eat any way possible.

Thanks

some never learn but many will eventually, just keep trying, put something like a slilversides whole on your feeding stick and wiggle it around. You may have to let him get hungry first. Always better to get a Lion that is already eating frozen from the LFS unless you do not mind buying live for it. It will not do well on fresh water live fish however. Also letting the silversides just float down in the water might perk his interest.

I have a Lion that will not eat frozen. I keep a 10 Gallon with saltwater shrimp I buy from a place in florida..$80 with freight thay last about 1-2 months. It is a pain. I noticed he showed more interest at night when all the other fish were asleep. i would feed one live then try a frozen. He would get all excited, dash towards it and about 1cm away he would turn his nose up and swim away. Also with the others asleep they would not steal the food. I am thinking I am going to have to move him to a QT tank and try and train him there because the other fish steal the food unless it is at night.

I will give you the supplier I use if you want to PM me. I can't post a commercial site here without facing the wrath off the MODS.

I feed mine krill. He seems to like and with the flow i have in the tank he chases it all over before he eats it. You could try that if you like.
