Since I've started running GFO, the brown hair algae has stopped spreading and even started to recede some.
The caulerpa hasn't stopped growing, but I think it managed to strangle and kill off most of the chaeto I had. I've had to trim it twice now.
I think my nutrient problems are under control.

I'm going to try a two-day lights out in the DT, as a sort of "KO punch" for the slimy brown hair algae. Saturday I'll take the cover off the glass, turn the lights on, blast the brown hair with a powerhead, and follow up with a water change.
The fuge light cycle will remain "on" during the process so that the macroalgae can soak up excess nutrients from dying snot algae.
Good plan or bad plan? I'm actually winning the war, I'd hate to lose any ground.
