Lighting Timers

I'm at school all day and I want to be able to see the fish while I'm home, so I was wondering if it would cause stress to the fish (pseudochromis and 3 green chromis) to set the lighting timer from 3:30- 8:00, while turning the light on in the morning from 6:30- 7:30 for feedings. Also, if I get corals, what should I do with the lighting then? Thanks for the help in advance!!!

Not knowing the type of lights you are using and the natural light in the room throughout the day? I will take a chance and say the light time won’t have any adverse affect on the fish. Before you add corals, check back and provide the tank size, depth, and lighting to make sure you have the correct set-up. Then you may need a good timer that can turn on the different lights for different durations, T5, MH, and then Actinic.

You will not harm your livestock. But you are asking for greenhair algae havign a double photoperiod. But I would gander you are safe having them on for only 30 minutes.

there is no need to feed in the morning. Just have the lights come on at 3 and go off in the evening sometime.

And feed the fish in the evening or afternoon.
