Lighting question?

I currently am running 644 watts of power compacts on my 150 gallon tank dimensions are 72X18X30 I believe. So if I were to go to T5 HO lights with individual reflectors,is it true you can go with 1/2 the wattage and the corals will still have the same effect at the 644 watts that the power compacts put out? Also is it true that T5 bulbs can last up to 16 months? I currently replace my PC bulbs once a year. Also compared to the heat power compacts put off is the T5's alot less? 1/3,1/2 as much heat or less ????

I'm curious about the wattage equivalence as well, but I've been told that for 48" bulbs, for example, a 54 watt T5HO is equivalent in light output to a 65 watt PC bulb, mainly because the T5HO is just a straight tube, whereas the PC is folded over which loses some light efficiency.

Also, if you have individual reflectors for your T5HOs, even more of the light gets delivered into your tank.
