Lighting question

I dont know if you'll get the spread you will like. On my 180gal 72x24x24 I ran 2-250w 12k's and had a dark spot in the middle and I also run 2- 72in 10k & antics.

I added a 250w 10k in the middle to brighten it up a bit.

Not sure what you should do but,

I just wanted to point out that HelloLights.com is having a sell if you decied to go with the T5 lamps. Available in 24", 36" and 48" and in either 10,000k or Actinic for $10.00.

What type of corals and animals are you planning on keeping? That more than anything will determine your lighting requirements. My tank for example is 72 inches and running 4 250W MH’s for full coverage the tank is stocked with mostly SPS corals and clams. I also supplement with 2 VHO Actinic’s that are 6 feet long.

What you are planning could work as long as you place any SPS corals and clams under the MH’s lighting pattern. Also remember that the type of reflector that you use will also have an affect.
