Lighting question on reflectors

I want to upgrade my reflectors but I'm undecided between the Luminarc Mini's or spiders. I wish I could use the L3's but they would be two wide to use on my 24" deep tank with actinic and the euro-brace

If you have any information or links on the mini's please let me know. I'm also looking for information from anyone who has switched from a good quality set of spiders to the mini's, to see just how much difference they actually make?

thanks

The L# minis should blow away the spiders. It's a much beter design that shoots all the light downward. Spiders are pretty darn good but don't compare.

go with the mini i just got mine wired up fired it up.... you will love them it...i didnt know how much light i was wasting with my old reflectors...

Ditto on the Mini. I went from ROIII, supposedly the best DE reflector, to an L3 Mini and the difference was night and day. Money well spent!

might call franks tanks see if he can get them in or order them for his sale this weekend.

marshreef in houston had two single ended minis for sale not sure if they are still available

That article doesn't test the mini only the full blown version and I don't think Sanjay has tested it yet but the concept is probably the same. It's worth the extra $.

He has tested the mini SE version and it is listed as the small diamond light in this article. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/mar2004/feature.htm

It tests really good and the article gives some great information for comparison purposes, but you must take into account that he used a pitiful bulb(vion 250w) in the test of the diamond light reflector.

The Minis are what I want to put over my tank. My wallet has crawled away to a dark spot in an effort to hide from me.
