lighting for 65g DSA

I am setting up a 65g DSA (36x20x20) and I am torn on what to do with lighting. The tank will be a full on sps reef with a few zoos on the bottom. I need advice on what to do with my lighting. I have pretty much narrowed it down to 2 options

1. 1x250w radium with 4x39w T5's

2. 2x250w radiums with 2x39w T5's

I think the 2 halides is going to be overkill, but I'm not sure if I can get away with 1 and keep sps on the edges.

I also need advice on reflectors. I need something narrow enough that I can put some T5's on either side of it.

Thanks!

I have the same tank and i'm running 2x150w pheonix14k with 4x39w T5's. 2xATI Blue+ and 2xGeisemann Pure Actinic. Lights sit 8" above the water and I get good color and growth from SPS in the top 2/3 of the tank. I have the same layout you're looking for with SPS up top and LPS/Softies on the bottom so I haven't tried placing any SPS in the bottom 1/3.

a single 250w halide with 2 or 4 t5s will work well, I would suggest a reefbreeders value fixture and T5s personally. I run a 58g and have done both with lower light SPS at the bottom such as Red Dragon and caps.

To get the most coverage you will have to go with a lumemax or lumenarc reflector. Lumen bright wont work as its more of a spotlight reflector unless you go with a large lumen bright

Or an ati fixture 6 bulb will work 8 would be better to dial in the color you want

Thanks for so many quick replies. The only decent reflector I have found that is small enough to give me room on the ends for t5s is the Hamilton cabo sun mini.

I'm leaning towards 2 of these. That would give me some serious light even If i hung the lights pretty high I think.
