This post may be more appropriate for a new to the hobby thread. I've had seahorse tanks for 2 years and am now changing one tank to a more agressive (well agressive for me ) tank - I hope to have a dwarf lion, clowns and maybe a tang or butterfly.
LIghting: Tank is 36" wide and 24" deep. How many 39w HO T5's do you think I'd need for keeping softies (leathers, xenia, zoas etc). I see some advertised on ebay where you can add strips on if you decide more is needed? How does that work?
Ciculation: Also wondering what size pump for a 70 gallon tank with softies - I'll have it plumbed externally to my 15 gallon sump. Is there a guide to ideal gph anywhere? ie turnover tank 10 times an hour, 7 or what?
I've always had seahorse tanks so had low flow and no powerheads. Are powerheads just used to increase cirulation in low flow areas?
Thanks
