Light timers?

I'm looking to get a timer for my lights.
I was wondering what people were using?
I have read that the coralife power strip timers can go up in flames  , so I would like to stay away from them. :D
I just need something that I can control 2 plugs individually.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I am using X10 stuff. There is a module that you plug into the outlet and then plug your lights into. The control box sits on my desk and I can control all three halides and the VHOs individually or just let the timer kick them on and off. I have a couple of pumps that I control with it as well.

Radio Shack use to sell that stuff but they stopped carrying it. I think you can get it on ebay really cheap and I highly recommend it. I was so sick of reaching under the cabinet to turn things on and off.... Now I just hit a button on my desk. :)

i have one of the intermatic timers mentioned above, and when i went to look for more timers over the holidays i was striking out. i wanted digital and not the lil timer dial type and no one had anything for plugs w ground. finally found some at harbor freight in richardson one day. biggest plus is that i got 2 for the price of one of the intermatics.

I run my MH tank lights to a Double Pole, Singe Throw switch so it can handle the AMPS that they draw when they all come on simultaneously. I got it from home depot and mounted it in my garage.

All of my other lights I run on electronic small timers also from home depot.

mtraylor,
that is a great timer. I used to clean swimming pools for a living and all the pool equipment had those timers. I never saw one go bad.

I use the $4 circular timers at lowes. They have been working great for a few years now. You need a timer for eatch individual light. I have three timers...Actinics, Daylights, and fuge light.

I had the same question, after my Lowe's timers stopped shutting themselves off. After this thread, I went and ordered the x10 automatic set up. Looks pretty neat, plus it will make my morning coffee!
Here is the link for the setup.
