M Munguia15 Aug 30, 2011 #1 Ok I'm new to salt water so are MH lights considered UV lights? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
H Heath Membership Expired Aug 30, 2011 #2 mh lights will emit uv, but there is glass sheilding used to block it. For double ended bulbs, the fixture will have a glass plate to block it. For single ended bulbs, the bulb has an outter glass casing that will block uv. Tapatalk

M Munguia15 Aug 30, 2011 #3 Ok because I put this chemical in my tank to kill my algae and it says to turn off any UV light so I didn't know if the MH should stay off or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

M Munguia15 Aug 30, 2011 #5 Should I invest in one of those as well? I want to do this right lol So I can turn on my MH? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
