LFS tank moving service?

I just purchased RR 72 gallon working bowfront and I need to move and set it up. I have been reading (books and online) and it seems a fairly simple chore as long as you have a day to do it and a good plan. But are there LFSs in the area that do this sort of service and what do they charge. The move will be about 20 miles....Flower Mound to Colleyville. I have been a lurker on this board for a couple of months and have learned alot. I wanted to make sure I wanted to do this before I took the plunge. I look forward to a long relationship with DFWMAS and please don't laugh if I ask a stupid question
Thanks
David

Welcome to the board .... dont worry about the stupid questions I think Ive asked them all .

DNA ( Dallas North Aquarium ) is based in Carrilton they may have a service that can move and set up your tank. Never been to pricey for my blood.

Pet Boutique ( White Rock Lake Area ) also may have this service.

If the tank is empty then is shouldnt be to difficult moving and seting up. Unless you would rather have someone expirenced set it up for you but most here would see it as part of succesful reef keeping.

Once you have a good plan it mostly bumping your head under the stand , a twelve pack , and lots of Saltwater and a good wet/dry vaccum.

Dave, welcome. For half the price you will end up paying an LFS you can hire bonded apartment movers to do all the grunt work. As far as setting up the tank everything you need to know is within the scope of this message board, and as mentioned before, setting up is a learning process that will help you fine tune your husbandry for what lies ahead.

Save your money, you're going to need it.

Colleyville eh? Let me welcome you to the neighborhood. There are several reefers in Colleyville. Chromey may jump in here too. I will be glad to help if I am around. Scott Shiles is a Colleyville resident and I am sure would give you a quote on the move if you decide to go that route. Reach him at Saltwater Paradise.

Send me a PM and we will exchange contact info.

I drove to Houston from Ft Worth after work on a Friday. I picked up a 72 gallon bowfront, and drove right back. I got home and crashed around 2 am. I woke up around 9 am the next morning and had the tank setup, and running by 1 PM. It is not that hard to do at all. The oceanic 72 bow is a pretty simple set up. My biggest piece of advice is if your gonna purchase your water ( which I recommend if your new to the hobby ) get it from a trust worthy source. I would recommend either Aquarium trading in garland, or Saltwater paradise in Irving. I have a lot of trust in both. I would also suggest you think about becoming a member of this club. Best 15 dollars you will ever spend.

David, Take a look at your schedule after shutdown and let me know when your going to get it. I'll give you a hand with it. No big deal. Well need plenty of water premixed and 5 or 6 large rubermaid containters and a few other misc. items. I have several I can being. Since there is no livestock it wont hurt if you have a small cycle after relocating the tank. I'll try and bring a few books to work next week for you
Try reading this http://melevsreef.com/moving_a_tank.html. It will give you a good idea of what we'll be in for.
