Let see those nano tanks! - Post pic's and descriptions...

[I will start...

This is my 20L that has been setup for about 8 months. Mostly a zoo tank, but I keep a couple of LPS.
The tank is running 2 65w PC's - Orbit System

[Very nice. Do you have to feed anything, and if so how do you go about doing it and how often?]

[Very Nice Blide. Here is my 20G that I have in my bedroom. It's sole purpose in life is a clownfish anemone tank (which I can literally watch for hours as that symbiotic relationship absolutly fascinates me) but other stuff sneaks in there. It is not setup like a show tank with nice rockwork etc. as it is just my play tank but it's fun!

It has no skimmer (That box I'm testing with a maxi to try to break up the surface skum but haven't perfected) and 4 kinds of macro growing it it (Cheato, Grape, Feather, Halimeda). I change 5G every week and have a HOB filter that I run carbon in 24/7 also changed with every water change.

I'll leave it with a few pics so I only take up one post as I'm bad about that!

[Great pics Keith! I especially love the pic of your BTA with the clown peeking out. Cute!

What kind of clam is that and what size is it? I didn't know you could have a clam in a small tank.

I've already posted pics on another thread of my nano but I'll go ahead and post here since this is specifically for pics of nano tanks.

Mine is a 12 gl Nano DX that has been set up in my husbands office for several months now and seems to be doing quite well. At this time I've made no modifications to the Nano but have considered notching out teeth for a skimmer effect.

I used the Carib Sea sand and some bacteria starter. All of the water , rocks and coral are from my 120 at home. THe only thing new other than the sand are the fish. I have a royal gramma, false clown, and a yellow clown goby.]

[Nice looking tanks

on a side note...
If anyones about to setup a Nano or did in the last week, Reefs.org is having a Nano Buildoff contest. Entries started March 5th? and End April 30th? Tanks will run til Dec 30th, and can hold no more then 20 gallons.

Could be fun]

[Cody - There are 2 Clowns, Peppermint, Cleaner, and about 10 little crabs from my TBS rock.

Marc - I feed DT's and Cyclopeeze maybe once a week. I haven't seen any real difference from feeding, but I do run my lights longer and that seems to help. Plus, I think the 20L is just so shallow it really helps the zoo's. (I think thats how they grow are in the wild.. shallow water)

Great nano's guys/gals keep them coming...

[Cindy that is a blue rimmed Derasa I actualy just gt from Peter Lin last week. He's about 7" or so (which tells you how huge that RBTA is).

Having clams in a small tank is not to much of a problem except they generally will outgrow them. You have to keep the parameters in check (many people neglect the calcium and alk in their small tanks which is essential for these guys to build their shell) and give them plenty of light and feed phyto but that is the same small and large. These guys get to about 18" or so. Eventually he'll have to find a new home but for at least a year I should be able to enjoy him!

As long as you have the lights Croceas and Maximas go great in smaller tanks because they don't get near as large! But they need much more intense lighting!]

[Your Derasa is beautiful....and big! I thought that RBTA stayed a little on the smaller side than regular BTA's. Or maybe that was just wishful thinking. My green tip BTA has gotten huge and has split once. I'm not quite sure what to do with it. Seems like his tentacles just keep gettting longer and longer.
