Least aggressive Clown?

I've got a mated pair of Clarkii clowns that just recently have gotten VERY aggressive. As in chasing other fish endlessly, fragging my SPS for me (Biting the tips off and moving the tips all around the tank) intentionally knocking corals off the rockword, and incessantly biting my hand.

I've had enough of it, if I wanted an aggressive FOWLR tank, that's what I woulda setup! Even though I hate to do it, as I've had the female for over 7 years, but, assuming I can get them out, they're history.

So, I've gotten used to having a Clown/Anemone pair going, so I want some different clowns back in there. I'm leaning towards a pair of true Percula's. Do they get anywhere near as aggressive as Clarkii's? What are the least aggressive of the Clowns?

Thanks!

Oh, and if I do manage to get the pair out (Trying the 2-liter coke bottle trap now for a few days), would anyone here be interested in a mated pair of Clarkii's? They've been spawning about every 2 weeks for me... I didn't post this in For Sale, since I don't wanna seem like I'm doing an auction (And I don't know if I'm gonna be able to get them out), but I have no idea what they're worth moneywise. (Disclaimer - the female seems to have cataracts, her eyes are kinda greyish) I'd prefer to trade for a pair of True Percula's (Assuming the answer to my question above is in the positive) or Ocelearis clowns... But anyway, when/if I actually manage to get them outta the reef I'll post in the for sale forum if there's any interest on that part...

I have had Clarkii, GSM, and ocellaris. The ocellaris are by far way, way, way non aggressive. My Clarkii female would actually bite me and my GSM female will ram me.

True Perculas are my favorite, and are very passive. They will defend their territory, but not so much that they'd bite you if you were near.

Clarkiis are the meanest, ime.

OMG  I thought the clarkii was the sweetest clown out there. I had a pair that would eat from my hand. (the last one I had that just got shocked was the meanest lil beast I'd seen after adding my LTA) But for the most part, clarkiis have been the only clown I've kept and have never had a problem. perhaps its time for me to move on...

As others have stated go with either true or false percs. They are super passive. On a scale I would say maroons are the most aggresive for sure. Usually Clarkii's are OK until eggs are around then it's watch your hand!

Did you look around for any eggs? They may have spawned and were protecting the eggs! said:
Oh yeah, there were eggs... My pair are spawning about every two weeks...

I'd not have a problem if she was just defending the eggs, but when there are eggs, she'll go to the other side of my 6 foot long tank to bite my hand, attack other fish, knock corals off, etc...

Thanks for the input ya'll! I knew falce percs were docile almost to a fault, but was wanting true percs, and wasn't too knowledgable as to their temperment...

Now if I can just get my Clarkii's out, looks like it's true Perc's for me!

And I 'spose I should just give her more time. Her anemone WAS on the right side of the tank, but that anemone wandered into a powerhead and is no more, so now her anemone is the clone on the far left side of the tank. So she might just be (temporarily?) defending both spots.

I have a large pair of false perc's and they are aggressive when fish get near them, but they mostly just charge to intimidate them and don't bite.

What about those pink skunk clowns. They seem to be small and non aggresive and I think they are pretty fish.

I'm HORRIBLE at guesstimating the size of fish, but she's huge... I'd guess around 4 inches. But like I said, I'm horrible at sizing things I can't hold down and measure. She completely dwarfs the Bangaii Cardinals I won at the meeting...

I got a pair by getting two Clarkii's of different sizes and putting them together... They'll USUALLY "negotiate" by size, and the bigger will become the female, the smaller the male, and pair up... If I'm neglecting the tank (I.E. Not feeding 'em often enough) they won't spawn, but when I'm taking good care of the tank and feeding 'em well, there's more time with eggs in there than without... Which was really cool at first, but it makes her get so aggressive it's starting to get annoying... Now if I can just get her out... Had the 2-liter coke bottle trap in there for a few days, putting fresh "bait" in it at least once, if not twice a day (And taking whoever wandered into it out (Snails, Starfish, Bangaii Cardinal's, my Fridmani, basically most things in my tank that can fit in the trap have been trapped by it, EXCEPT for what I'm trying to capture :x ))... Oh well, I'll keep it going for a while, but I think she's onto me and is just laughing at me...
