korilla wave maker

$290? I have one of these: http://tinyurl.com/4z6472 with 2 koralia #3's hooked up to it and it works great.

not using one and unfortunately the only place i know who has one is Franks Tanks which is in Fort Worth. A little bit of a drive for you but if you are spending 300 bucks it may be worth the trip. he has some great corals too, nice frag section with some awesome deals and always full on fish too so it would be definately worth the trip. have you looked at the lower powered vortec? or even the full powered vortec for that matter. for about the same price i would think it to be a bit better. i have a single vortec turned down on my 90 and things seem happy with it. you are looking at 430 for the koralias at 1400 gph x2 and for 419 you can get the full sized vortech which does 3500 gph and is a lot smaller in tank. seen both used though, and they do about the same job as far as moving water so either would be a good choice.

Yeah, I would like to know too if the unit soft start, and if it makes the clanking noise

It occasionally makes the clanking noise, but I hardly ever notice it. Plus, isn't there a mod you can do to stop the clanking noise? The wave maker has always worked great for me.

rigid airline tubing on the end of the propeller against the outside plastic housing to try and quiet that

Do you know a link to that mod so I can see what to do before I mod it the wrong way?
