Koralia pumps are available now

Does anyone know how much current these guys put out? I was trying to figure out which one to order. I have no SPS corals. I have softies and LPS. I don't want to add so much flow to the tank that it pisses off my corals. said:
Model Flow Rate Watts Dimensions
Koralia 1 400 gph 3.5 2-1/4" x 5"
Koralia 2 600 gph 4.5 2-7/8" x 5-7/8"
Koralia 3 850 gph 6.5 2-7/8" x 5-7/8"
Koralia 4 1,200 gph 8.5 3-1/4" x 6-1/4"

so do those rotate like a Hydor without the gph loss?

edit>> just noticed that it actually has "hydor" in the name... probably states the obvious of my question...

I'm really impressed with the energy efficiency. The lowest model koralia runs at 3.5 watts for 400 gph compared to a MJ1200 which runs at 20 watts and 280 gph. Even with mods you're saving a ton on energy costs. I wonder how much a year you'd be saving comparitively for a year.

So, for my 105 (tall) what would you get? For the way I have my tank aquascaped, I think I would need to place one at three different points in my tank to eliminate dead spots. I'm thinking the three of them would be at different levels in the tank, so that the whole tank would be receiving at least some flow.
So would you get three of the same, or all different?
Sorry, I'm sort of a dummy when it comes to this stuff...

I think, I am not sure just to be clear, but I think with the propeller type mods or pumps you get a huge amount of flow but it is flow over a wider area rather than a more narrow stream that would come out of a mj. The flow would be very powerful out of the MJ nozzle especially at the end like a firehose. With these I get the idea that the flow is similar but instead of very powerful narrow stream the flow is spread out over a larger area so that corals that are closest to the PH are not getting completely blasted as they wood next to a rio or mj. I do not know this for sure, I may be totally off.

Same here,

I have started to order these three times and still can't decide on the size to get. I have a 90g and was originally going to buy 2 MJ 1200 and mod. Does anyone have any advice on which to buy?

Gail

I found this site that says a review will be posted Thursday. I think I will wait until I read a few different reviews before I place my order.

Ok I will be the guinea pig I guess. I placed an order for a couple of the number one pumps. From the flow they are even stronger than the MJ 1200's. I will let everyone know when I get them. I hope the magnet holds well. That is my main reason for buying them.

Hey GP  What size tank and livestock do you have? And thanks for being the GP Gail said:
I have a 72 gallon bow front RR with a 25 gallon sump. I have three MJ 1200's along with the main drive. I have a huge amount of live rock ( around 150 lbs.) About a 2 1/2 inch live sand bed. Assorted lps, and sps. One BTA, and one condy. I have a scopus tang, copperband butterfly, flame angel, and a green mandrin. Several turbo, and nassarius ( spelling? ) snails. Three emeralds, one strawberry emerald, and two pom pom crabs. Several pep. shrimp, and two cleaners. I am sure I missed a few things, but that is most of it.

Very instresting.... I wonder how the magnet and suction cup work on the mount. Does it have a little magnet and suction cup on the part thats inside the aquarium?

Looks pretty impressive, especially with the cost and the energy consumption.

Looking forward to the reviews!

I know this is off topic but you don't have problems with your condy killing stuff? said:
I got him when I first got into this hobby without learning some serious lessons. I have had him for about a year, and he has not killed anything yet. I would give him away for free if I found someone who wanted him. He kind of has his own little corner in the tank. I will say this.....I have no idea how anyone could ever kill one. That thing has been caught up in powerheads. Lived through my tank crash, and a few other things. I have no doubt if I took it out of my tank it would walk up right and get a job. The most hardy thing I have ever seen.
