Koralia Evo 600gph

I got this pump for Christmas (the 'Evo 550') rated at 600 gph and thought it might be overkill for my 28g nano cube. When i got it running it is much less flow than i was expecting... is it possible i've configured it incorrectly or should i just buy a larger koralia for better flow?

I think i may be expecting the results similar to what a powerhead would provide. It seems like the koralias move large amounts of water where the powerheads may provide a more refined stream. I may try to exchange if they will allow me to and get a 1050.
