Koralia causing shock

I was just checking my tanks for salinty, and using my finger to drip water on the refractometer. When I stuck my hand in my 20 I got the **** shocked out of me. I unplugged the heater and all the Koralias (there are two #1 and a nano) and then plugged and unplugged the Koralias in one at a time. Each one delivered a mild shock... combined produced a larger shock. So I just removed all of them and replaced with spare pumps/heater. Anybody else have problems with their Koralias causing shocks. I'm just surprised all three of them causing issues at the same time. I clean them pretty regularly, too, in a mild vinegar/water solution.

Hi,

It's a known issue with these pump's, there have been a lot of post's on here with folk's getting shocked by these pump's. I'm surprised you haven't seen the post's.

Cheers,

I believe there was a recall on them for causing shocks a year or two back, not long after they first came out... Might be worth a call to the company and seeing what they have to say...

i think almost everything can or will put off a lil energy some u just cant feel i had that prob a long time ago with a heater and mj and i could detect voltage in the water with my lights on. u can get a volt meter and test inside the water pluging things in one at a time they all put off but all add up. i would get ride of what puts off a lot and then get a ground prob. then at least 1 or 2 times a year i unplug it and check for anything else

Yeah unfortunately I don't have so much time to read all of them so I only grab a section or two and read a few posts so it would be real easy for me to miss.

I'll call or send an email to the company and see what they say.

Thanks.
